We did it: the textile workshop has taken on a new shine! Entire walls were removed in order to expand the size of the studio. The floor was re-tiled, and repairs large and small were made to the walls and doorframes. The masterpiece: the built-in cabinets. These cabinets were built under the professional skill and leadership of Horst Philippi in the metal workshop, in parallel to the renovations. Now everything has its own place.
Finally, the big challenge: connecting all of the sewing machines to power—and now we have also managed to accomplish that, as well. Now we can proceed, and the instructors and trainees hope for small sewing jobs from their neighbors (or even from Germany?), such as making pillows, bags, school uniforms, etc.
